"I Want An Advisor With a Slow Hand"... my apologies the 'Pointer Sisters'...a fun video on the type of advisor we would like to help us plan our care-years.

Driving home from a meeting one day, ‘Slow Hand’ was on the radio, and I decided to have some fun, so rewrote the lyrics, hired a sound studio, begged a friend who is a vocalist and put this fun 3 minute piece together (must have been a slow day..pun intended).

  • employer (current and past if retired)
  • union
  • health unit/community access center
  • doctors and your pharmacists
  • retirement association
  • experts on aging (e.g. visit gerontology websites of universities)
  • bank/credit union advisors
  • elected representatives (especially provincial)
  • local newspaper and your local radio shows (suggest this issue as an occasional topic of interest to your local media)
  • Visit boutique assisted living residences, retirement communities, and even nursing homes (don't wait...do some investigation now....)
  • Read often on the topic
