Brief Description of the Policy Issue

Seniors require representation on various issues to the
Minister Responsible for Seniors. The seniors of the NWT require respresentation on issues and concerns to the
Minister Responsible for Seniors and other Departments of the Government
of the Northwest Territories. The seniors
require input on current policy and programs that directly reflect services
to the seniors/elders.

Expected Outcomes for the Policy/Program

To work cooperatively with the Government of the Northwest
Territories, Department of Health and Social Services, to address the
needs and issues of the Senior/Elders of the Northwest Territories on an
ongoing Basis

The NWT Seniors Society acts on behalf of all seniors within
the Northwest Territories. Seniors/elders

Brief description of any factors that readers should
consider

|
The make-up of the NWT Seniors Society reflects the
interests of all aboriginal Seniors and non-aboriginal Seniors. The
Society consists of an Executive comprised of a President,
Vice-president, Secretary, plus representatives from the territorial
regions. The Society meets at least annually to discuss and evaluate all
seniors/elders programs and services.
